Traffic to be restricted on Romanian National Road 66

Wednesday, May 18, 2005

Romania’s National Road 66 (DN 66) will face traffic restrictions between the cities of Târgu Jiu and Petro?ani, in the southern part of the country, between May 17 and November 15 due to hydroelectrical operations on the Jiu river. The traffic restrictions mean that traffic will not be able to access the road on Tuesdays and Thursdays of every week, between the hours of 22:00 and 06:00.

The National Company of Motorways and National Roads issued a press release informing motorists of alternative routes to take, including the route Târgu Jiu-Râmnicu Vâlcea-Brezoi-Sibiu-Simeria-Ha?eg-Petro?ani, Târgu Jiu-Drobeta Turnu Severin-Caransebe?-Ha?eg-Petro?ani and Târgu Jiu-Filia?i-Drobeta Turnu Severin-Or?ova-Caransebe?-Ha?eg-Petro?ani.
